It's Not Too Late to Vote

The FWAB is an alternative ballot for overseas voters whose ballots are late.

Get the FWAB at votefromabroad.org →

If you are still waiting for your ballot to arrive, it's time to use the FWAB. If you never requested a ballot, certain states allow you to use the FWAB as a registration/request form and ballot, so you can still vote.

The list of states appears to include: AK, AZ, AR, CO, DE, DC, GA, IA, MA, ME, MD, MN, MS, MT, NE, NC, NV, OK, OR, SC, SD, UT, VA, and WA. Please verify the rules of your state →
Props to states that support voter access versus disenfranchisement!

Instructions

Write in either a candidate's name or a political party for each office.

Print the ballot and declaration/affirmation form and be sure to sign the form. Even if you use an online form like the FWAB at votefromabroad.org, it still needs to be printed, completed, and the declaration/affirmation form signed.

Return by mail to your local election office.

Put the ballot in a blank envelope, seal the envelop, and mark it "Security Envelope" to keep you vote private.
The Declaration/Affirmation for and Security Envelope sealed
with the ballot are mailed together in a large envelope

Put the security envelope and the declaration/affirmation form into a larger envelope together. Seal the larger envelope.

Send your ballot by mail, using the correct amount of local postage in the top right corner of the front of the large envelope.

In the upper left corner, enter your current complete overseas mailing address and the election date.

Address the envelope to the name and mailing address of the local election official to whom you are sending the packet. Look up the mailing address of your local elections office →

Envelopes

You may print postage paid* insignia on your envelope by using the envelope template from the Federal Voter Assistance Program website. Use these templates with your own, blank envelopes to print with the appropriate labels:
FWAB Security Envelope (Standard U.S. Envelope)
✉ FWAB Postage-Paid Envelope (Standard European C4 Envelope)

* It's not entirely clear if this Postage-Paid envelope will be accepted by Swiss Post, so bring it the Post Office and ask. Otherwise, priority international postage starts at CHF 1.90. If you have the opportunity to inquire at the Post Office, let us know their response.
